A Very Public Hall [Performed 2012]
Based on a true story, we witness the opening of the grand Memorial Hall just prior to WW1 which will be the jewel in the crown for the village. The opening week is headed by the appearance of Oscar Asche and Lily Brayton [The Burton & Taylor of the Edwardian age] with an extract from their famous offering of the Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare. This is greeted with great scorn from a local playwright who has a play running in the West End. The developing 'competitive' spirit between the two troupes makes for an hilarious Edwardian comedy!
